The Forsytes plot
The Forsytes chronicles the life, loves, trials, and triumphs of a wealthy stockbroking family in the late Victorian era. Generations of the family are torn between tradition and self-sacrifice on the one hand, and personal happiness and the search for love on the other. The family's stability is threatened by two chance encounters between rival cousins, Jolyon and Soames, which completely upend their previously stable lives.
