It interweaves the personal stories of ordinary men, women and children who knowingly became involved in a conflict that lasted more than thirty years. The series combines extraordinary archive footage with emotionally compelling first-hand accounts of people to create an intimate, multigenerational portrait of Northern Ireland's past, present and future, with an emphasis on understanding and empathy for all points of view.
