Vooral niet te serieus nemen, dan is Terra Nova echt topvermaak. In 2 dagen de hele serie uitgekeken. Dat zegt toch wel wat. Begint vrij grootschalig, met een vervuilde futuristische stad. Ziet er best wel sfeervol uit. Deze stad maakt vervolgens plaats voor Terra Nova. Vanaf dat moment wordt het grotendeels een cheesefest. Niet alleen door de vrij matige dino-effecten (die prehistorische vis aan de hengel was het absolute dieptepunt), maar ook door een overvloed aan zoetsappige familiemomentjes. Is het goed?: Nee. Is het vermakelijk?: Absoluut! Jason O'Mara speelt Jim Shannon, de main character. Jammer genoeg heeft 'ie geen enkele uitstraling of charisma, en komt O'Mara nou niet direct over als een fenomenaal acteur. Gelukkig is er ook Stephen Lang. Lang steelt de show als keiharde, doorgewinterde avonturier 'Nathaniel Taylor'. Dubbel gelegen om zijn handelingen, gezichtsuitdrukkingen, en one-liners. Serie zou een gigantisch stuk saaier zijn zonder hem. Maar Terra Nova is zelfs iets meer dan een cheesefest. Tegen het einde aan komen er meer interessante verhaalontwikkelingen. Wordt ook op interessante manier gehint naar de 'badlands', een voor de kijker onbekend gebied die in seizoen 2 verder 'explored' zou worden. Jammer dat dat er niet van gekomen is. Erg leuke serie, die helaas vroegtijdig beëindigd is. Begrijpelijk is het wel. Want ondanks dat het leuk is, kan het uiteindelijke eindproduct van de tot dan toe duurste tv productie toch niet helemaal het gewenste resultaat zijn. Zou erg tof zijn geweest als een serie voor Syfy of iets dergelijks. Overigens vergelijkbaar met BBC serie Outcasts - Seizoen 1 (2011), die ook maar één seizoen liep. Outcasts is iets serieuzer (ook geen dino's aanwezig), en tevens iets saaier.

Don't take it too seriously, Terra Nova is really great entertainment.

Watched the whole series in 2 days. That's saying something. Starts on a fairly large scale, with a polluted futuristic city. Looks quite attractive. This city then gives way to Terra Nova. From then on, it largely becomes a cheesefest. Not only because of the fairly mediocre dino effects (that prehistoric fish on the rod was the absolute low point), but also because of an abundance of sugary family moments. Is it okay?: No. Is it entertaining?: Absolutely!

Jason O'Mara plays Jim Shannon, the main character. Unfortunately, he doesn't have any charisma or charisma, and O'Mara doesn't immediately come across as a phenomenal actor. Fortunately, there is also Stephen Lang. Lang steals the show as tough, seasoned adventurer 'Nathaniel Taylor'. Doubly situated for his actions, facial expressions, and one-liners. Series would be a lot more boring without him.

But Terra Nova is even more than a cheesefest. Towards the end there are more interesting story developments. Also interestingly hints at the 'badlands', an area unknown to the viewer that would be further 'explored' in season 2. Too bad that didn't come to pass.

Very nice series, which unfortunately ended early. It is understandable. Because despite the fact that it is fun, the final end product of the most expensive TV production up to that point cannot be quite the desired result. Would have been really cool as a series for Syfy or something like that.

Incidentally, similar to BBC series Outcasts - Season 1 (2011), which also only ran for one season. Outcasts is a bit more serious (no dinosaurs present either), and also a bit more boring.
