This series has been pretty mediocre for a few seasons now and it has continued to be so in the last year.
The level of ambition has been raised, but the pitfalls remain the same: the nostalgia, the teenage drama, the action, a scenario that goes over the top once again. It is really too much to ask of the makers to keep everyone happy and also make a beautiful whole of it.

Strong final season with a number of excellent fights, which are presented remarkably grandly. The makers have done well to build the story towards the Sekai Taikai, which of course lends itself to physically strong and agile fighters. Of course, the sentiment is starting to become repetitive and clichéd, sometimes bordering on annoying. The writing also leans a bit too heavily on the mutual relationships and problems that should have been banished three seasons ago. Nevertheless, the first half as well as the middle part of this season are remarkably exciting and as an interested viewer you regularly hold your breath. The final part is a bit weak, but this sixth season is one of the better seasons of this series despite the points of criticism. There is also enough material for (another) spin-off.
