Finally a good season. Seasons 3 to 5 I found very disappointing, but the makers have finally managed to find the right combination between drama and suspense. This season's setting was surprisingly fun, there were a lot of smaller roles well developed and you could feel the constant threat of the bad guys, especially Negan of course. What I thought was a shame is that many interesting characters from the first hour had almost no character development. Think Daryll, Glenn, Michonne, but the writers also seemed to have completely lost Carol. The ending promises a good next season. We're going to see it again, although I think they can build up to an end.

I was cut off halfway through this season.. Is always the same.. Group of survivors look for and find a hiding place, they stay there for a while until the zombies break in, then 1 or 2 people die again, then the group flees again and then it happens the same again, only in a different setting and now and then some new characters added... Those zombies are no longer interesting either, come up with something new.. Let those zombies evolve or something, into a super zombie or do I know.. But after 6 seasons I did see those zombies.. This is another series that should have finished the story 2 seasons ago, then it would have been very good, but no, it should be milked out again until season 34 probably... which is fine if they would add some new elements...

The series is slowly losing me. Despite being busy, I've watched this season at a ridiculously slow pace. Especially since The Walking Dead is still the 'main series' that I currently follow on Netflix, it is disappointing how little urgency I feel to sit out the series.

Two things start to bother me. The first is that there are filler episodes in between. On the one hand I understand that these are necessary to give the characters room to develop, but I sometimes end up with an unsatisfactory feeling at the end of an episode. The second point, and that's actually even more annoying, is that the series is starting to become more and more a repetition of moves. Where in the beginning there was still some threat from the zombies, they now also start to fill the screen more and more and the group also has to deal with a new group of similar enemies again and again. Is it bad? No, absolutely not, but I can't help but feel like I've seen this before. Negan seems to have to become a bit of a Governor XXL when it comes to brutality... Yes, there's a threat emanating from him in that last episode. That's for sure. But I'm really excited about it...

I'll keep watching the series for a while. In any case, I'm not one to quickly stop a series once I've started it, but I do hope that something will happen that will give a new twist to the story and the characters. I'm aware that such a wish is risky (after all, it can also turn out negatively), but the series could use a pick-me-up at the moment as far as I'm concerned.

3*
