Thunder over the Plains plot
"THUNDER IN HIS HEART...LIGHTNING IN HIS HOLSTERS..."
Texas, 1869. After the Civil War, adventurers took over the government of Texas and behaved dictatorially. Captain David Porter now has to enforce against his feelings in the imposed dictatorial laws, despite now protecting criminals and condemning the innocent. Porter tries to purge Texan freedom fighter Ben Westman, who is falsely accused of murder by criminals Joseph Standish and HL Balfour. Meanwhile, captain and womanizer Bill Hodges is after Porter's wife Norah, who has been through a long journey with her husband.
