The Sons of Katie Elder plot

"From the four winds they came, the four brothers, their eyes smoking and their fingers itching..."

Katie Elder had four sons. The day of her funeral, they all return to Clearwater, Texas, to do her the last favor. The story has a double theme: it is both about the tough men of Texas and the dramatic, maternal influence of Katie Elder.
