The Riding Tornado plot
Tim Torrant is hired by rancher Hiram Olcott to guard the ranch's surroundings and track down the horse thieves who are terrorizing the area. Dick Stark is the ranch's foreman and considers Patsy Olcott to be his fiancée. Stark hates Tim and argues with him. After another argument, Tim decides to resign. He discovers two horse thieves who are turning horses branded from Rafter-O into the branded ones from Box-R, Walt Corson's neighboring ranch. He also reveals that Corson's horses have also been stolen and that they are trying to pit the two ranchers against each other. Tim suspects the rancher Hatch Engall, but has no proof.
