The Mysterious Avenger plot
"Prairie Prowlers Defy the Devil-May-Care Rangers!"
Texas Ranger Ranny Maitland comes to Medicine Springs to resolve the feud between his father and his neighbor Lockhart. Both men are livestock farmers and have to deal with cattle that are stolen. Ranny drives to Lockhart's ranch and hides that he is the neighbor's son. Father Maitland also visits Lockhart with the intention of settling the quarrel. During the encounter, Father Maitland is murdered and the sheriff arrests Lockhart.
