Tal Holladay is in trouble. His father turns out to be murdered and Tal is seen as guilty. He was also sentenced to ten years in a penal camp for another murder he also did not commit. Bandits use people forced to labor to build their dam and in doing so they charge the innocent for all kinds of acts that the person himself knows nothing about. Karan Ordley believes in Tal's innocence, but is unaware that her stepbrother Hub is part of the gang.
