The Dawn Trail plot
"FAST RIDING! HARD HITTING! STRAIGHT SHOOTING!"
Larry Williams is a sheriff in Osage County, Texas, where the mood has reached a boiling point. The shepherds have enough water for their animals, but the ranchers do not. Mart Dalton, son of a wealthy cattle rancher, gets into a fight with one of the shepherds and kills him. This puts Williams in a difficult situation because he is Mart's best friend and is also engaged to his sister. Law-abiding he arrests Mart, which gives the cattle farmers reason to set up a liberation attempt.
