"He never wanted to be the hero"
Lefty Brown is a loyal, grumpy 63-year-old man who is rarely taken seriously. He has spent much of his life with the legend Eddie Johnson. Now Johnson is appointed a senator from Montana and he wants to leave his ranch in the hands of Lefty, despite the objections of his wife Laura. When a cattle thief kills Johnson, Lefty is forced out of his partner's shadow. Consumed with guilt, he begins his journey that reunites him with his old friends Tom Harrah, a marshall, and Governor James Bierce.
