Riding through Nevada plot
Postal inspector Steve Lowrey drives the stagecoach to Carson City to investigate irregularities in the mail delivery and to devise guidelines for awarding new mail contracts to deliverers. When Steve and Arkansas, the stagecoach driver, arrive at the Willow's Station stopover to exchange the horses, they both see outlaw Ed Kendall and his gang preparing to steal a herd of horses. After chasing the thieves off, Steve and Arkansas continue their journey to Carson City. Shortly after arriving in town, Steve finds an open letter from government agent Clayton McCord for stagecoach line owners Bob Holloway and his daughter Gail. This letter states that a gold shipment from San Francisco to Washington will be transported via Carson City.
