Mitch Garrett seeks revenge on a town because his wife died during pregnancy shortly after the end of the American Civil War and the townspeople refused to lend him money to pay a doctor. What better way to get revenge than to become sheriff of the town. Garrett first becomes deputy sheriff and then he kills Sheriff Ole Olson. In his new position as sheriff, Garrett allows outlaws to rob the local bank.
