Northwest Outpost plot
"Excitement of Old California!"
In the 1830s, Prince Nickolai Balin and his wife Princess Tanya welcome young Natalie Alova, who has just arrived from Russia, to their home in Fort Ross (a Russian colony near California's Russian River). Although Natalie claims she came because of her health, Tanya suspects another reason. That evening, Natalie and her maid Olga hear a group of convicts sing. Both anxiously scour this group to determine if Natalie's husband Count Igor Savin, whom she had to marry for political reasons, is among them.
