Man of Conquest plot
"America -- First, Last -- Always!"
After spending his childhood among the people of the friendly Cherokee, Sam Houston enlists in the army led by Andrew Jackson. He is injured and is praised by Jackson and a lifelong friendship is born. Shortly after, Jackson is elected president and Houston becomes governor of Tennessee. Houston marries Eliza Allen, but Eliza can't get used to the life they lead. A divorce is the result and a scandal is born. The event forces Houston to resign as governor. Houston returns with a friend to the Cherokee and becomes an ambassador for the Native American people.
