"Ride the adventure trail with Gene!"
Colima County, Texas. After a bandit from Morgan's gang shoots the sheriff, the murder is assigned to Gene Autry. Gene proves his innocence and tries to become a sheriff in order to catch the real killer and the rest of Morgan's bandit gang. He is assisted by the sheriff's daughter, Marjorie Miller (Dix).
