Fort Osage plot
Fort Osage, Missouri. Scout Tim Clay agrees to lead a caravan of settlers through Native American territory to California, where gold has been found. Clay knows he can expect a lot of trouble from the criminal activities of Arthur Pickett, his daughter Ann and George Keane. Their activities disrupt the peace treaty between the whites and the Native Americans. However, the Picketts and Keane cheat on each other, and Clay hopes they're so busy with each other that they don't have time to stir up the Native Americans against the Whites and he can safely loot the settlers through Native American territory.
