Kenya, Africa, during World War II. British Army Major AL Coombes has little regard for the local population. He is even less fond of District Commissioner Crawford, who is friends with the natives. Crawford is very fond of the exotic Englishman Graham Fletcher, who is called 'Zia' by the natives. Coombes suspects Zia of Nazi sympathies. But when the British forces are forced to move through treacherous and uncharted territory due to the advance of the Germans, Coombes is forced to rely on the guidance of the mysterious Zia, who knows the area well.
