The true story of Irena Gut [Sophie Nélisse], a Polish woman who is forced by the Nazis to work as a domestic servant for Major Rugmer [Dougray Scott] during World War II. Manager Schultz [Andrzej Seweryn] teaches her the tricks of the trade, but also how she can use her position to help others. Partly because of this, she manages to ensure that a number of Jewish 'tailors' remain out of the hands of the Nazis. But it is becoming increasingly difficult to keep the presence of these Jews a secret from the outside world. And with the ruthless Sturmbahnführer Rokita [Maciej Nawrocki], discovery undoubtedly means a gruesome death. Variation on Schindler's List is well acted and well made, but the characters are superficially developed, making it nothing more than a cat-and-mouse game.
