"GIANTS OF THE SKY...blazing a trail to victory!"
The crew of a B-17 bomber leaves San Francisco in 1941 on a mission to the Philippines. Among them are both seasoned and new crew members. They all have their reasons for going on this mission, which lead to tensions between the crew. One has an uncontrollable need to work as a pilot, the other tries to approach his father's reputation as a war hero and a number of others are involved in a romantic plot. The film received 4 Oscar nominations, including most original script.
