Half.

It does have the potential to be a good film in its genre, but it simply isn't. Scott tries to make his story smooth and difficult so that the viewer is forced to draw their attention but basically just fails.

Despite the fact that the film makes a number of valiant attempts to portray the dark sides of crime, it is not at all. The story may be well developed, but in the end it is a standard event wrapped in a story with too many characters.

What keeps the film going is that it all remains a bit unpredictable with the question of who will make it out alive and who won't. But the threat of that remains. Despite a number of brutal scenes, it is never exciting or threatening and the consequences of the crime world do not really shine through.

Acting differs. Diaz is terrible, while actors like Fassbender and Pitt do better. Although Fassbender has a somewhat stiff script, which sometimes causes emotions to fall out of the blue. Outside of that, the film has all the potential to be smooth, but is killed by the slow camera use and storyline.

Too bad, because there are strong moments in between violence. That machine that slowly decapitated you was a bad thing, but Cruz's outcome may also be daring. However, Scott simply doesn't get the most out of his film.

I'm actually surprised to see that the scores are so low. No, it's not a masterpiece, but I found it an entertaining sit overall. It is good to pay attention in terms of story, but in itself also "just a failed drug deal". They are interesting characters, but it remains on the surface. It all looks extremely well produced. We also get some semi-philosophical monologues, one of which is better than the other. The anecdotes, which add nothing to the story, but add to the atmosphere, sometimes reminded me of the ones in Pulp Fiction. Just a little too much blood at the end. Uncomfortable role of Diaz.
