?Beautiful film that does indeed start off lightly, then becomes somewhat comical in character and then turns to the thriller side in situations in which you would rather not get caught up in.

Great story and excellent actors, movie is of the "whodunit" genre.

I also liked the fact that Sofie Gråbøl (Danish "The killing") played the young 'goddess' Kalinka as our hero's girlfriend.

An 8 for this movie.

A young Jaime Lannister, pardon Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, lands a job as a night watchman in a morgue, and it soon turns out that it's no coincidence that there's a vacancy there: Ever since the murdered hookers pour in, there's been some pervert too. to mess with the corpses. We take it for granted that they cannot solve that with a camera or a slightly more vigorous surveillance regime. As an intro this may sound like a horror, but it hardly is: it's much more of a crime thriller that also happens to have a murderer in it. Mixed in with a decent dose of comedy, especially because Martin (Coster-Waldau) and his best friend Jens are quite fond of practical jokes, always inciting each other and Jens likes to cross boundaries. Nice cameo from Ulrich Thomsen too, by the way.

Anyway, although the film is quite slow, there is still quite a bit of tension in Nattevagten when the whodunit aspect of the film is still central and the question is what is going on in the morgue. And even if once it turns out who the villain is, there are still some exciting scenes. Unfortunately, there are quite a few weak links in the story. It turns out to be very easy to repeatedly break into a morgue unnoticed, mess with the corpses, fake crime scene after crime scene, and build a career as a detective with a background as a fired necrophile night watchman.[/ spoiler] And the humorous scenes didn't all come out very well either. Adequate, sure, but not much more.

In terms of level not so different from the remake.

It is therefore logical that the original gets a higher score. People often watch this one first and when they notice that the remake is almost an exact copy of the original, the rating drops too.

But it doesn't really matter that much in terms of level. A little more atmosphere in this one. On the other hand, the image quality is clearly less. And although it gets a bit boring towards the end, it's just an effective movie.
