"Trust your fear."

Ian, a man on the verge of a nervous breakdown, disappears from the world and goes hiking in the wilderness of New Zealand. His attempts to avoid other walkers are fruitless and he is drawn into their worlds, but he can never shake the incessant feeling that they are being pursued by someone or something. As Ian's paranoia grows, the other walkers keep an eye on him. Ian is cagey about his past, he never sleeps and his fear leads him to make unlikely claims. Far away from society, Ian begins to doubt his own sanity before launching himself into a bloody battle for survival.

Quite a strange bird, yes Surprisingly nice little genre film too. It is the first feature film by director Thomas Sainsbury, who is also an actor and plays the leading role here. Nicely written plot with some black humor, smooth and fascinating progression + excellent acting from the cast. Trailer reveals too much, so avoid. 7/10*

Pretty good, although I do like to hike from time to time. The main character is annoying to follow, very tense all the time, making it uncomfortable to watch for an hour and a half. Ultimately, it's more of a horror/comedy in my eyes. I was able to laugh here and there at the characters and situations. The acting is good and it is all nicely depicted.
