I came across this film through an article in the New York Times.

You would think you might expect something from this. But it is quite disappointing – the plot is rather shaky, the protagonist just doesn't seem to grasp what is going on, the acting is high-school level, and so is the production. A shame, because the message is actually very important – and let me just repeat it for anyone as naive as Nadia: whatever you see or read anywhere is increasingly driven by what suits a handful of billionaires. And especially when an algorithm is involved. There is hardly any free press left – but I just happen to think the NYT is one of the few news media worldwide where you can still read somewhat oligarch-free news, along with The Guardian and the WSJ.

Perhaps the film's wavering nature is also a warning sign. After all, the entertainment industry is also doting on its own, and the tendency towards influence is becoming increasingly evident there as well. The fact that the packaging in this film is so dismal does not alter the content. It is a shame, because the message is more important than ever.
