"What you can't hear could kill you."
Jillian Shanahan is an independent woman who has overcome her handicap and for whom life is challenging. She has earned a place in society as a marathon runner and athletic trainer. She has never experienced any ill effects from her deafness. Until the moment when one of her athletic students is killed in a bloody attack and Jillian seems to be the next victim. Now her handicap starts to play tricks on her, because she can't hear her attacker coming. With her friend Ben she tries to uncover the truth about the attack, often staring death in the eye.
