Besondere Schwere der Schuld plot

Joseph Komalschek is serving a 30-year prison sentence for the gruesome murder of a mother and her newborn. The man never confessed, but the bodies were never found either. After his release, the man returns to his hometown, which treats him with suspicion and contempt. In particular, former police inspector Klaus Barner, who arrested the alleged killer at the time, is not thrilled with Komalschek's return. A strange cat-and-mouse game ensues between the two men...
