If there is one film that is synonymous with the word 'pulp film' it is Starcrash. A bad script, lousy acting, a cast that was largely dubbed by other actors (with the exception of Gortner, Spinell, Hasselhoff and Plummer), ridiculous tricks and ditto sets and costumes. It's all so bad that it eventually turns out to be good again.

Fortunately, the film doesn't take itself too seriously with ambiguous one-liners and dildo-like laser guns. British actress Caroline Munro (whose voice was dubbed here by Candy Clark) walks around scantily clad for most of the film, and because Munro is a beautiful lady with a beautiful body, that is certainly not a punishment to watch. The film shamelessly borrows from various SF classics such as Star Wars and Barbarella.

Entertaining garbage. The film has a fairly nice story that is delivered smoothly. John Barry's music is quite nice and gives the film some dignity. But how clumsily this film has been made . Bad special effects, bad acting, bad sets. Everything looks extremely low budget.

Well, Caroline Munro is a beautiful appearance, but the film is not made any better by having her walk around sparsely for no sensible reason.

The clumsiness also gives the film its charm. Fortunately, the film is only an hour and a half long.

Pulp check, over the top check and Caroline Munro that is definitely check. Just a nice rip-off of Star Wars, but with a nice leading actress that's no problem
