"Science's newest miracle...is a mistake."

A bit on the boring side in the beginning, but it gets a bit better towards the end.

Actors are good at their roles.

The effects are also quite manageable.

Too bad could have been more.

Finally saw this one and I liked it better than I thought. It was an interesting film with a good structure. It's not hop, hop, but a nice start.

I also found it interesting enough, I was never bored for a moment. I found the last fifteen minutes a little less, but it was certainly not bad.

The cast wasn't bad, especially the one who plays Dren.

The special effects were also very good. The film stands or falls here, but they could already convince me. I especially liked that it wasn't an all-digital monster.

A great science fiction movie that I thought it was worth watching. If there is ever a second part, I'd like to see it.

I've read the previous critiques of my predecessors here, but I still think it's a very nice film, despite the somewhat ludicrous final part in my opinion.
I find the fact, what happens when you mess with (human) DNA, and what medical-ethical and social questions and problems this raises, interesting, although (many) more films have been made about this theme.

Of course, the result of this experimentation in this movie is very strange, but then again, we simply don't know what could happen in case you did such an 'experiment', even though it is generally believed that the result is very unlikely to be viable, and if it is viable it will have a very short lifespan, and it is generally believed that the further apart the DNA species being mixed are biologically, the harder this all gets. So in that sense the film is not realistic enough. But if it works, yes what the result will be; no one who knows. The reality may well be much stranger than the vision of the scriptwriter and director. And that's why I think it's an interesting film.

A fascinating film, with a somewhat ludicrous final part.
Maybe not a must-see, but if you find this an interesting theme, then it might be well worth a look.

3.5
