Good film in which an escape via a hot air balloon ends up on a mysterious island. An adventurous and entertaining enough story with a great link to 20,000 Leagues under the Sea. Of course the special effects are outdated, but Ray Harryhausen's craftsmanship is evident in the scenes with the giant animals. Furthermore, a fine music score by Bernard Herrmann.
