Police in a small American town discover a connection between a recent number of mysterious deaths: they all involve men from the same small town who, apparently, died from the effects of... intercourse! As the title makes clear, the Bee Girls [usually recognizable by the sunglasses, a nice find] are responsible for this. This erotic thriller certainly has some sexy moments - the ladies are anatomically pleasing to watch - and their attempts to seduce men are, partly because of that, quite exciting. But the film is moderately lit and often a bit long-winded. Nevertheless a nice cheapie.

Interesting concept but the execution has its limitations. I fear that it is mainly due to the music score that they fail to create tension. Charles Bernstein is certainly a competent composer but sorry that funky shit is anything but supportive here. Production error. Well shot and some special scenes seen.

The film concerns itself with sex-hungry women who resemble the females of a bee colony. I always thought female bees were workers. As a good woman should. In this film they are not. In this film they are seductresses. The bee part or the sci-fi element in the film hardly plays a role in terms of content. The only exciting element is that the bee women frequently take off their clothes. These exciting actions do not contribute anything to the story, but they do ensure that the ability to concentrate is maintained.
Also not exciting is the murder plot that is the most important part of the film. A very cool government agent tries very hard to solve several murders that the viewer has solved for a long time. The agent's efforts are successful. That is not because of his great investigative sense, which is reflected, among other things, in the intelligent questions he asks. “You're the geneticist, aren't you? Can you cross a man and a horse?” That's because the clues are conveniently thrown into his lap. Thank goodness, because otherwise the murders would never have been solved and the film would continue indefinitely. No, you absolutely cannot take the film seriously, even though the intentions of the maker that is.
Some bad action scenes and uninteresting stylization and design complete the misery. Horror? Science fiction? Nah. At best I would call Invasion of the Bee Girls a mediocre softcore film that uses a sci-fi theme and therefore seems more interesting than it actually is.
