So, and that's right. After an evening/night shift I was a bit hesitant to get up at 06.00 AM. Because, Eline usually gets up around 07:30/08:00 and that 1.5 hours was a loss. Especially if you are not exactly the sun in the morning. But this morning it was different. Eline has discovered Film1! And a new world opened up for her.. First a big piece of 'Will a woman come to the doctor', that will make you more skilled anyway, and then this film with the very handsome Jeffrey Dean Morgan. GOOD MORNING WORLD! LET THE SUNSHINE! (Well, that last one seems strong to me today, but, at least Jeffrey knows how to give me a warm feeling.) Not that the movie was that great, it's nothing less than a cliché rom-com, but struggling through the morning under enjoying a movie (Read: Jeffrey) is always nice.

Emma Lloyd is actually a very annoying person as a hopelessly lost and know-it-all love doctor. Now since the Kill Bill films I have not thought highly of her, but of all women they put her in the lead role. And then this character. Unfortunately. Admittedly, the idea of the movie is nice. But you soon notice that the film is actually not that special at all. Where's the romance? Where are the jokes? And chemistry was also hard to find. Why are these two not unattractive guys fighting an obnoxious and nervous human like Emma? Colin Firth may also take a different path, we know these roles by now.

Oh well, what else can I say.. I think I'll spend the morning with the newly discovered Film1 toy (Yeah, I'm always a bit behind with this sort of thing), looking for a nice rebound from this film .

Annoying.

Pretty lame and standard film, crammed with the clichés of the genre and a stupid figure as the main character. A positive note is the playing time, which, thank God, doesn't last half an hour too long, but it ends fairly quickly.

The cast must have thought so too. Each and every one of them are actors that I consider 'decent, without more', but such a Colin Firth is a topper for many other people. No idea what he does in movies like this one.

It's amazing what this movie can do. At first I hate Uma Thurman's character because that's how she tells other people how to live, but then Jeffrey Dean Morgan's character is unable to hold his girlfriend and then he starts ruining Thurman's life my antipathy immediately jumps to him. And am I right in thinking, am I supposed to prefer him to Colin Firth's character because Morgan is spontaneous, sexy, unshaven and lives above the restaurant of an impossibly cheerful Indian family, while Firth has a stiff rake with stress hunger? Come on. Yes, I know this is "just" a comedy, but I've only been annoyed by all those annoying people, and also really didn't laugh at anything. Half a star extra for the presence of Keir Dullea, Dave Bowman in 2001.
