Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights plot

Havana: November, 1958. Katey moves with her parents to Cuba in the sweltering weeks before the revolution. Katey's circle of friends consists of American jet-set peers. However, her eye quickly falls on Javier, a charming waiter and a very talented Cuban dancer. She challenges Javier to enter the national dance competition at a chic Havana nightclub. Through the evening practice sessions, Katey discovers the other side of Cuba. She exchanges the beautiful American hotels for smoky nightclubs where only the locals come. This is where Javier really teaches her what dancing with passion is.

Fat movie! I like it even more than Dirty Dancing 1! nice dancing too. Looks a lot like Dirty Dancing 1, but I like it better.

Doesn't compare to its predecessor.
Slightly disappointing even, I don't quite understand where that higher score comes from. The build-up is reasonable, the feeling of the contest was not enough in the end and that rough interruption towards the end was not necessary at all and totally uninteresting (otherwise more interruptions would not have been necessary). But despite the cast doing well (nice supporting role also from Patrick Swayze), the ending shows that the film lacks feeling above all. The dance aspect was just not strong enough and occasionally lacked choreography.
Music is quite nice and the setting is decent too. Clichés, etc. I can't get annoyed by it either, so I can get enough of it.

Tasty, catchy dance film, which is certainly not inferior to the original.
The storyline and chemistry between the two protagonists is, in my opinion, even better than in the first film.
It's nice that they still got Patrick Swayze from the stable for a bit part.
A real stroke of luck.
