Sonezaki Shinju plot

Tokubei is an employee in his uncle's company. One day he is sent to the Ikudama shrine to trade there. There he meets his beloved Ohatsu, who is not well disposed because of his long absence. Tokubei tells her that his uncle asked him to marry his wife's niece, but that he refused because he loves her. What Tokubei does not know is that his uncle had already made the proposal to his stepmother and she agreed to the marriage, got a dowry for it and left for home.
