Le Diable au Corps plot
During the First World War, the student Francois falls in love with the young Marthe. However, she is engaged to Jacques, a soldier at the front. Despite Francois' insistence, they part ways and Marthe marries Jacques. When they see each other again in 1918, however, their mutual feelings turn out to be stronger than ever. They fall in love again at the meeting places of yesteryear. Marthe embarks on an extramarital affair that will culminate in tragedy.
