Wonderfully romantic film that makes you want to take the first plane to France. Kevin kline was great in this movie.

Nice rom-com in which a woman follows her fiancé to France after she falls in love with another woman. A somewhat thin and of course predictable plot. The dialogues are nice and entertaining, and the film looks nice. Meg Ryan does what she does best, and Kevin Kline is fun with his accent too. Furthermore, this is a nice promotional film for France.

Little memorable rom-com. The standard formula is well chewed. A movie like this stands or falls with the acting of the two protagonists and it has to be said that neither Meg Ryan nor Kevin Kline was great. Ryan just doesn't play well sometimes and Kline's character was a bit too bland for me. Fortunately, the second half of the film is a lot better than the first: the pace is a bit higher, there are slightly more comic scenes and in the end you secretly hope that the two will come together. Nevertheless, the running time is on the long side and the film has too little to offer to be really worth watching.

2.5*
