A mystery/thriller is the genre designation. The mystery part is mainly in the first half and is the most fun part of the film. The hero is looking for a person on a train. He has only a few clues and limited time to find that person. That intriguing fact is played out well. An exciting situation unfolds. Almost every passenger does something strange or shows deviant behaviour. A paranoid mindset arises in the protagonist and viewer. When the factors manipulation and blackmail are very cleverly emphasized in the story, the tension has suddenly risen to great heights. At least with me. I was pleasantly carried away by the story.

All the more annoying that the exciting level drops in the course of the film. The more subtle work involved in solving a riddle is gradually taken over by easy tension in the form of action and violence. Those things are pretty nice to see, but if the action-oriented repeat button is kept pressed and the more subtle work is mainly absent, the fun quickly wears off. Things become predictable and the tension slips away.

Unbelievable twists appear in the story. There are scenes with cheap cliff-hanging aspirations, in which the hero always escapes a predicament just in time. So the well-known work.

At a certain moment some thinking is no longer necessary and it is enough to nod empty-headed on the way to the unsurprising ending. Oh, and then you do.

Nice to meet you! Exactly what you can expect from Liam Neeson. The ending is a bit rushed, which I think is a shame. Still nice for an evening of excitement...

LOL, the commuter. What's next? The man who takes out the garbage?...

Just seen, fun and exciting "who's the target?" One of the better paranoia movies starring Neeson. He does more of this kind. Thick 3.5 stars.
