In the Dark Half plot
15-year-old Marie lives with her mother Kathy, but their relationship is under pressure. Occasionally, Marie babysits 6-year-old Sean for her neighbor Filthy, a poacher suspected of murdering his wife. When Sean suddenly dies an apparently natural death while Marie is looking after him, Filthy is overcome with grief. However, Marie becomes increasingly obsessed with her neighbor.
