"P.C. 49 grapples with a beautiful artist's model"

While on duty, Police Officer 49 witnesses a murder. His girlfriend Joan knows who the perpetrator is and proposes a confrontation with the suspect. But a short time later, she is missing and the officer begins to become seriously concerned for her safety. He tracks her down and finds her tied up next to a dead man. They join forces and when they unravel the rest of the mystery, it's an unexpected surprise.
