"A great homage to Brazilian popular music and a great film"
A fictional musical about the history of popular Brazilian music, from the first half of the century. The focus is on the mythical singer Mário Reis and his lonely and mysterious life and special repertoire - he was one of the first recording artists. Reis' music was particularly popular in the clubs of his hometown, Rio de Janeiro, especially at the Copacabana Pálace. The history is told through the most important Brazilian singers and composers, such as Gilberto Gil, Gal Costa, Edu Lobo, Raphael Rabello, Chico Buarque and Caetano Veloso, who are not only present as actors, but are also responsible for eighty percent of the soundtrack.
