The Tragically Hip is a Canadian rock band from Kingston, Ontario. The band consists of Gordon Downie (lead vocals and guitar), Paul Langlois (guitar), Rob Baker (guitar), Gord Sinclair (bass) and Johnny Fay (drums). The band started out as a cover band and mainly covered songs by the Golden Earring and The Rolling Stones. The band is very popular and influential in Canada. In 2005, The Tragically Hip was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame. Singer Gordon Downie also has a number of solo albums to his name. In May 2016 it was announced that he is terminally ill.
