Bright Lights plot

"What a Cast and Story - Crammed With Drama -- Songs -- Girls -- Hatred. And How Dorothy Does That Hula-Hula -- Oh Boy!"

When Broadway revue star Louanne 'Lou' wants to announce her engagement to Emerson Fairchild on the last night of the show, a group of journalists arrive to interview her. She talks about her childhood on a farm in England and how she eventually became a hula dancer in a cafe in Kohinoor, Africa. Wally Dean became her boyfriend and bodyguard there. He saved her from being assaulted by Portuguese smuggler Miguel Parada. She points out that Wally still protects her when she's on tour. Miguel, who recognizes Louanne, comes backstage and Wally asks his friend Connie Lamont to stop him in the locker room.
