Norah Benson is a wealthy woman who lives in Manhattan. She is very protective of her brother Joel who lives a short distance away. Joel, in turn, regularly visits Norah and often plays with her children. One day Joel is very wild with the children and after a while he is even arrested for attacking someone. Later, someone is even killed. Everyone thinks Joel has turned to drugs, but Norah discovers that Joel has become involved in the occult "Santeria" belief.

Shirley MacLaine, well-known actress and yet seen little work. In this film, also the only horror film she has played, she is convincing in her role. Perry King, who plays her brother Joel, is also doing quite well. The story has a good build-up, but it all gets watered down towards the end. The final scene by the sea is oddly chosen and has a nasty effect. The ultimate final shot, on the other hand, is accurate and well chosen. 6/10
