Spell plot
"Evil tales have their roots."
Marquis wants to attend his father's funeral with his family. On the way, he loses control of the plane due to a storm, after which he wakes up with one Eloise. She keeps him in her attic and claims she can heal his wounds through the midst of the Boogity. This black magic means the death of his family and Marquis searches for a way to escape Eloise.

Solid! It had been a while since Tonderai was in the director's chair for a feature film, but his return may be there. This time a dodgy Misery variant with black magic in the mix. He rarely works around the genre tropes, but thanks to a high production value he manages to turn it into something (un)tasty. Although he gradually dares to grab his moments with explicit gore, it loses that sharper edge too much towards the end. A tad cowardly when everyone is still alive and the revenge feels rather rushed. You should have a little more fun with that. But overall a very positive surprise.

Solid horror piece with a dark atmosphere and a nice story about voodoo. The tension is higher in the first part than in the second part, where more gore is present, but the course seems a bit too easy. Good acting by the cast by the way. 6.5/10

Mediocre but still better than expected. Only the credibility is a bit lacking number of escape attempts, huge nail in and out of foot several times, sheriff participating, .... I'm not exactly a believer of this kind of voodoo-like practices either. The gore is still good, in fact the story is too. Tempo was also all right, just the credibility and you can see that it is a bit low budget.
