This movie is really great. This is the best Dutch horror film I've seen so far. And I've watched many. Everything is right about this film and the ending is very daring.

When I walked out of the cinema hall and thought about what exactly happened here, the penny dropped. You are masterfully misled throughout the entire movie. I really got chills and this movie is very oppressive.

I don't understand the comments of others here about too dark and bad sound etc. Maybe if you get annoyed too much that you miss what a great movie this is. We are sure that foreign media will once again be praising this strong Dutch product.

It was the same with Ares. It was also too dark (these are horror movies!) And badly acted and the whole box of standard statements opened up again. But in America they liked the series. So isn't it time to take a more objective look and give the Dutch films a little more credit?

Not really wow this Dutch horror film, rather on the boring side, little tension and not the best acting performance, setting was still the best.

The excavation of a female body in the peat landscape near the house where the family of teacher Betriek [Sallie Harmsen] la has lived for generations turns out to be the starting point for a series of bizarre, terrifying events, starting with the mysterious death of the 'purse man'. Of course it all has to do with an old curse. A typical Dutch horror film: lots of stylish shots, an exciting musical score, but a weak scenario (with a forced romance) and a laughable denouement that mainly reminded me of The Muppet Show[/spoiler ].
