Cool! The atmosphere is somewhat reminiscent of older European arthouse horrors like Possession and Angst, but at the same time it also manages to feel modern enough. The soundtrack is very strong and often has a very alienating effect, visually it is quite minimalistic but still special. For the rest it is a kind of weird arthouse take on the entire possession subgenre, so definitely don't expect a film that will chew everything for you in terms of plot. The film starts off quite vague, but gradually only gets weirder and weirder. Although in my opinion it could have been just that little bit more crazy. Strikingly strong casting too, by the way, especially Bluthardt has a really perfect head.

4*. Also the best German film I have ever seen.

This was really too slow for me, while there clearly could have been something fat in it. Could certainly appreciate the bizarre, but it was just too mean across the board.

Nice German cult work. So it had to beckon to Possession and it is quite funny to see that the Chilean leading actress almost looks like Isabelle Adjani.

The film immediately stands out with its style. It is filmed in such a way that, including the soundtrack, it must look like an 80s film. I think this film also takes place in that time frame of the absence of smartphones and the psychologist in question is called with a pager. And how is the execution?

The scenario was captivating, but the execution is sometimes a bit thin. But maybe a small budget had to be taken into account. The film is shown in long shots, one more captivating than the other. That reconstruction scene was strong. Although a lot is given away in the beginning and it just doesn't reach that one element/surprise that Possession should have.

Nevertheless I enjoyed myself. The running time was okay and the director has put all his fun into it to perhaps continue to work on his career. So I'll see how Cuckoo turns out someday.

3.0*
