Her teenage daughter Miria develops muscle cramps and contractions during the funeral, which terrifies everyone and traumatizes the girl. Father and daughter live in a well-maintained old castle, together with the half-paralyzed Antionio, Miria's brother, who is in a wheelchair, and their housekeeper, who is a nun. The incident at the funeral left Miria completely devastated. She is depressed and confused.
