"The candle of his lust burnt brightest in the shadow of the grave!"
London, 1885. The renowned surgeon Dr. Bernard Hichcock accidentally kills his wife Margareth from a chloroform overdose. Then he leaves town. Fifteen years later, he returns with his new wife Cynthia. After staying in the house for a while, however, she begins to think that Margaret's ghost is haunting her. In addition, she starts Dr. Hichcock of suspecting that he wants to poison her.
