A film full of adolescent chatter and bad actors in a lame story. Very sad. Very amateurish.
And not only that. The film is also full of explicit nudity. Not a big deal in general, but here it is. The nude is not presented very attractively here. The nude scenes are often poorly filmed and are given an extra rancid edge by placing the camera close to the skin of the (mostly) unattractive characters. It's like you're there. And that suggestion does not give a pleasant erotic effect. No, there is little cause for joy on that front either.
The only thing the movie gets right is the execution of the gore. That one looks fine. The gory moments are the highlights of the film. When there is killing, the film is suddenly fun. It is nice to know that there is no slick CGI involved, but that the effects have been created old-fashioned.
It is a pity that the effects are only discussed relatively late in the film. For me it was a lot of biting until those moments arrived. Bite through until something finally happened that was a little exciting.
The rest was really not good.

Hey.
Obviously not a high quality part of cinema, but it can of course still be quite entertaining. Now Gutterballs I think falls within the trash genre. A genre that I naturally don't have too much feeling for, but in the more recent titles there are sometimes surprises. Unfortunately, Gutterballs was not.
Gutterballs was a title that has been on my watch list for a long time, I believe the movie has been on my list for 2 years in the time I've been on MovieMeter. For some this is short, for me this is very long. Gutterballs was originally listed for the NC-17 rating, which is promising for a slasher. The title sometimes gives the film quite a bit of life.
The film is characterized in aggressive horror with short pieces of porn. For example, there are really actual sex scenes in the film that are quite explicitly portrayed here and there. Let me be that prudish viewer who is not necessarily fond of this. I don't exactly get a kick out of it.
The murders are quite original and quite over-the-top, but also quite chaotic. The same goes for the rest of the movie. Everything is quite chaotic and confused, which makes it feel like they put it together within 3 weeks. (And guess what). This quickly gives you a rushed vibe from the film.
The acting isn't the best either, but that's mainly due to the timing. I also don't believe that much was improvised (which is said), because the timing between the dialogues was very serious. It seems as if the help signs behind the scenes are sometimes pulled up too late. That muddle continues for the full 96 minutes.
However, it is all quite entertaining and quite graphic. But that does not immediately make a good film, because the direction must support those elements. Something that unfortunately does not happen in this film. Hence not a sufficient, but also not a low insufficient for fun.

Watched it again today, this time on a Blu-ray disc purchased through Amazon.
I've seen the extended uncut version.
The rape scene was brutal at the top of the box with the friends who take her hard 1 by 1, then a number of brutal scenes including the transvestite and other couples, also some gore, otherwise there was little story and there was constant ' "fuck" said haha.
So a special film, the most brutal was the scene with the cone..
There is also a part 2 but unfortunately you can't get hold of it and I don't think it was ever released.
