What a tasteless piece of crap, terrible. I did manage to chuckle here and there, especially at the incredibly lame dialogue, but this is truly awful. Intentionally silly, bizarre, and disgusting, but it's just a bit too obvious and everything is too repetitive. The creators clearly took a good look at the work of director John Waters and the films of studio Troma.

Also nice.

It's always nice to discover a new director with even more work to their name. Especially when it's someone with a completely unique style, like Hosking. I was really looking forward to this, but was still surprised that Hosking had already made it this far in this film.

There are a few more horror elements, but ultimately this is just another full-blown comedy, revolving around the extremely strange characters and the unique set design. Hosking is truly inimitable in this respect; I struggle to compare his style to others. I find the connection to Troma rather weak.

You have to love it, because it's not exactly highbrow. It is, however, very pure, and Hosking isn't afraid to push hard and get the most out of a given joke or situation. Everything about his films is spot on; I just wonder how many variations he can repeat before it starts to get a bit boring.

But those are worries for later, The Greasy Strangler is a wonderful recommendation, although there will be at least as many people who will find it absolutely terrible.

4.0* and an extensive review

To my mind 'n mix van goedkope pseudo artistic bullshitterie, poeppiesdrol-humor en lame feest.

It doesn't have any semblance of style or character, and is also extremely poorly acted.
